The country's Supreme Court has refused to hear the case of Fahad Yassin for the 11th lower house of parliament, which was blocked by the Federal Indirect Election Commission.
The court yesterday heard the arguments of Fahad Yassin's lawyers and the Office of the Attorney General on behalf of the Federal Electoral Commission.
Lawyers for Fahad Yassin argued that the federal commission had no right to suspend the results, while opposition lawyers argued that the commission was in charge of administering the entire election and had terminated the seat before the election.
In a statement issued today, the court said, "The Supreme Court has ruled that the Supreme Court has no jurisdiction over adjudication of complaints regarding the by-elections of the 11th Parliament."
The court added that it had closed the case file MS / 1/2/2022.
The decision was made by Chief Justice Bashe Yusuf Ahmed, and judges; Abdulaziz Mohamed Yusuf, and Salah Sheikh Ibrahim Dhiblawe.
